About the Business
Motability Operations established to run the Motability Scheme overseen by Motability (the registered charity). Disabled people able to exchange their mobility allowance to lease a Motability vehicle. By 1997, with 21 manufacturers participating on the Scheme, customers benefited from expanded choice. Each manufacturer offered a range of models including Citroen, Fiat, Mazda, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault.
Mileage allowance for Motability customers increased to 60,000 miles from 45,000 miles for a three-year contract. Drivers able to travel further during their lease without incurring excess mileage charges.
